NUL HOSTS POLITICAL DEBATE AHEAD OF ELECTIONS

Ahead of the coming general elections in June, the National University of Lesotho, funded by Metropolitan Lesotho, will host a Political Debate on Thursday, 18th May, 2017 at Avani Maseru starting from 6:00pm.

Five parties which have been invited to engage the public on their plans are the All Basotho Convention (ABC), Alliance of Democrats (AD), Basotho National Party (BNP), Democratic Congress (DC) and Lesotho Congress for Democracy (LCD).

Each Party will be represented by two representatives who will engage with a panel of experts on the following themes:

1) Education
2) Economy and Unemployment
3) The Rule of Law in a democracy
4) Service Delivery and Local Governance
5) Professionalism and the Public Service

As the nation prepares for the General Election called for 3rd June, 2017, the National University of Lesotho (NUL) community and the public at large are keen to understand the manifestos and policies of different political parties that will compete in the election.

It has been a tradition for NUL to facilitate political debates ahead of elections since the first Democratic Election in 1993.
