She also supervises final year projects in the department. Her research interests include Urbanization, Urban poverty, Urban livelihoods, Urban governance, urban economy, Household welfare, Foreign direct investment, international trade, and state and development.

Short Bio

Dr. T. A. Rantšo is a lecturer in Development Studies at the National University of Lesotho.  Currently teaches International Political Economy, Agrarian and Rural Development and Introduction to International Organisations and Institutions.  Research interests include Rural Non-Farm Sector (RNFS), small-scale enterprises, agribusiness, Foreign Direct Investment, rural development and food security issues.  He has written some articles on agribusiness and sustainable livelihoods in Lesotho and some articles on rural development in Lesotho.

Dr. Moses M.M. Daemane is a lecturer in the department of Development Studies, at NUL, teaching courses in Poverty and Development Strategies, Gender and Development, Development Research Methods, Development Projects Management/Development Planning, Development Policy, Development Political Economy, Institutions and Development, Environment and Development, Urban and Rural Development, Governance and Development and Agricultural and Agrarian Development.

Supervision includes both undergraduate and postgraduate students in research projects. Research interests include Agricultural and Marketing Cooperatives, Community Development Projects/Projects Management, Policy and Development, Governance and Development and Agricultural Marketing.

Dr Ntho is a lecturer in the department of Development Studies, teaching courses at undergraduate such as Gender and Development, Comparative Development, Social Aspects of Development, while at Master’s level she teaches courses such as Social Policy Analysis and Development, Social Contestation and Change. She also supervises both undergraduate fourth year projects and Master’s dissertations. Her research interests include gender and transport; gender and energy; gender, democracy and peace building; youth and culture, VAW and elections. Her community engagement activities include advocacy on women’s rights and women’s empowerment
