Short Bio Dr Rose, the senior lecturer and preceding head of the Department of Nutrition, is the Dean of FOHS. She worked as a nutritionist for over 17years. She has served as the head of the Department of Nutrition for several terms. Dr Rose teaches Medical Nutrition Therapy, Principles of Metabolic Endocrinology and Drug-Nutrient Interactions.

Short Bio Food Pathogens and Antimicrobial Peptides.Lecturer of Food Microbiology, Food Biotechnology and Food Safety and Hygiene. He’s a very dedicated individual with exceptional abilities to lead, learn and work effectively under minimal supervision. He is the Head of Nutrition Department and holds the Chair of Food Safety in the department.

His main research interest includes infectious food pathogens and the development of antimicrobial peptides for use in foods and medicine and also antimicrobial resistance in clinical isolates.

Name Mr. Mothusi Nyofane
Designation Lecturer
Qualifications BSc Nutrition (Lesotho), MSc Nutrition (Pret, SA)
Short Bio Child Early Development and Nutrition. Mr Nyofane is a Lecturer in the Department of Nutrition, where he wholly teaches Community Nutrition, Nutritional Assessment, and Nutrition Throughout the Life Cycle. He is a researcher and PhD candidate affiliated with the University of Pretoria – Research Centre for Maternal, Fetal, Newborn and Child Health Care Strategies & South African Medical Research Council Maternal and Infant Health Care Strategies Research Unit.

Mr Nyofane’s research interest is on the nutrition-related phenotypic and neurodevelopment of children born with intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR) due to placental insufficiency during pregnancy, and in-utero exposure to maternal HIV infection and antiretroviral therapy.

Mr Nyofane currently collaborates on the following projects:

-Siyakhula study, -UmbiBaby study,  -International UmbiFlow study

Short Bio Food Processing and Food Analysis. Mr Mothibe is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Nutrition, teaching food sciences courses including; Food Chemistry and Analysis, Principles of Food Processing and Food Product Development. He is the former Head of Nutrition Department who had great influence in establishment of food product testing. Being a member of NUL Research and Innovation Committee, he is very passionate about new food product development. Mr Mothibe’s main research interests include; development of new food products also in proximate analysis of food industry waste materials and their utilization. He is also interested in food safety issues within dairy value chain in Lesotho.

Ms. Lineo Maja is a senior lecturer and practicing pharmacist registered with the Lesotho Medical, Dental and Pharmacy Council as a Pharmacist. I am currently a tutor in the Faculty of Health Sciences. I am also a pharmacy practice and pharmacy management lecturer in the Department of Pharmacy.

My research interests include: non-communicable disease prevention, management and control at primary healthcare level in sub-Saharan countries; Medicines Use Review and Prescription Interventions in patients with chronic disease; and Pharmacovigilance.

Mopa A. Sooro is a lecturer at the National University of Lesotho, in the department of Pharmacy, Faculty of Health Science. She is registered with the Lesotho Medical, Dental and Pharmacy Council as a Pharmacologist and an active member of the Pharmaceutical Society of Lesotho. She is the member of the NUL Institutional Research Board (IRB).
