NUL GRADUATION CEREMONY TO RUN OVER A WEEK

The National University of Lesotho (NUL) will, for the first time, hold a week-long Graduation Ceremony starting on the 24th October, 2022 and ending on 28th October, 2022 for the 47th Convocation for the Award of Certificates, Diplomas and Conferment of Degrees.  The split activities of the ceremony will be held both at the Roma campus and the Institute of Extra-Mural Studies (IEMS) Maseru campus on various days.

In this new mode, the Graduation Ceremony will be staggered over five (5) days in a week split according to Faculties. The first day will be dedicated to the Opening of the Convocation by the Chancellor, His Majesty King Letsie III. This will be followed by official speeches and the conferment of Doctoral and Honorary degrees. From the afternoon of day one, the Faculty-specific ceremonies will begin with the Faculty of Agriculture. Other Faculties, IEMS and Centre of Teaching and Learning (CTL) will follow in the subsequent days as shown in the schedule below.

The 47th Convocation theme is “Building and sustaining resilience against all odds”. The aim is to give graduands a chance to enjoy the ceremony in smaller manageable groups rather than a large group, all at once, as has been the case in the past. This change will enable NUL to attend to the graduands with the dignity and respect they deserve on their special days.

For logistical purposes, graduands will be expected to bring a maximum of two (2) guests each to the ceremony due to limited space. All logistical arrangements for the graduation ceremonies will follow the established University procedure.

Plans are underway for live online streaming via social media channels (NUL Facebook page and NUL YouTube channel) during all the days.
