NUL Stall takes Centre-stage at the SOS Career Expo
Multitudes of learners, teachers, parents, private sector and the public swarmed the NUL stall at the SOS Career Expo in Quthing, held for youth in the district both in School and those out of school yet completed high school. The NUL Marketing Committee gave guidance on the various academic and research programmes, community engagement activities and support services available at the University.
On the 18th November, 2022, the NUL Marketing Committee went to Quthing after receiving an invitation to give career guidance to the high school students and the youth in general, in the district. The NUL Marketing Committee comprises of representatives from all the 7 faculties of the university, IEMS and administrative departments/units of the University. Members who attended were Mrs. Liteboho Nono from the Department of Student Affairs, Mr. William Mokotjo from the NUL Library and well as the NUL Marketing Officer, Mr. Thapelo Sephiri. Information, educational and communication products including prospectuses, brochures, flyers were shared with the participants.
Other organisations that graced the SOS Career fair with their presence were the Lesotho Electricity Company, Standard Lesotho Bank, Lesotho College of Education and various government ministries in Quthing. The key speakers were the District Administrator of Quthing and District Education officer.
The aim of the fair was to expose the high school students to the existing companies and organisations in Lesotho and also to equip them with necessary information on requirements needed for them to become part of those companies. The NUL stall stole the show as the most visited stall during this Career Expo. It was also gratifying to hear participants who hailed the NUL as the only university in Lesotho known for creating champions!
